The arrests have been made after two years of investigation.
The men took advantage of foreigners who were seeking shortcuts to help them pass the British citizenship test through deceptive means. The suspects allegedly charged aspiring British citizens hundreds of pounds in return for a fraudulently gained pass mark.
Henry Dillon, editor of Red Squirrel Publishing, which publishes a range of British citizenship test study guides, said that this money would have been better spent on a decent English language course or a reputable Life in the UK test study program.
“Candidates preparing for the test must not be misled into cheating. It’s a risky, expensive and completely unnecessary way to achieve a pass mark” Dillon said.
